I enjoyed this new series. It did several interesting things new the genre, such as using negative levels as a tool for stat growth. The MC had a strong motivation, and the antagonists were strongly developed. I felt for Kegan, who had understandable motives, but I never once saw him as anything but a villain…
I love seeing it from the other perspective. It is refreshing! I just wish there were more like it!

the story is amazing, but the narrator sounds like an angsty teenager no matter what he’s saying.
Man, this is a great story.Gideon is living a life that many men dream of. The screens with Angel in the third book had me rolling in laughter. I love listening to a book which has female narrators providing the voices of female charaters.

This series was very good. I jumped from one book to the next as soon as I finished one. I enjoyed the building and progression of the village and the travelers plots that wove them tightly together, and who wouldn’t want a vic contionce?

I give this all top marks but I still have questions but can’t write about them for spoiler reasons. I very much enjoyed this series and because of it I fallowed Jeff Hays into Dungeon Lord series.

I Got this book and had it on the shelf for a while before it got into the top of my rotation. Glad I finally listened to it. Jeff Hays is getting farther up to the top of my favorite readers and Annie Ellicott was a good pilot on this adventure flight that you will..
