as a quick preface my tastes in books run towards Dresden files, earlier iron druid and anything written by Brandon Sanderson, but this book is awesome and I can’t wait for the next. I’ve had this in my wish list for 4 or 5 months before buying it and holy crap was it worth getting…

While I didn’t read or listen to Book 1 in the series, I still found it to very entertaining. Since parts of the first book were explained here and there, I was able to piece together the important aspects pretty quickly. This story had a large cast and it did require some concentration to keep..
