This series is BAD! Starts as space opera with just bad voices/narration. Then it turns into this retro story about the female heroine being given “the Gift.” Embarrassingly, it becomes a stupidly unbelievable vampire story!

Couple the slow narration with all the monologuing and I want to pull my hair out in frustration. The actual mechanics of the world appears to be fun but there was so little of it compared to the “personal growth” monologue parts

A really enjoyable listen. Despite a growing cast of characters and a more complex storyline, it is easy to follow and keeps you wanting to know what happens next. I’ve listened to the whole series to date four times. It’s just fun.

I love the genre and have listened to enough books that it’s been a while since I feel like I’ve heard a book that substantially differentiates itself from any other in the genre. It has quality, length, and is an easy listen. Highly recommend
