I’ll be honest.. I found the storyline here to be much more confusing and convoluted than the first two (which in general were easy to follow). This was a fun story with memorable, likeable characters (and some a little cliché). I could take or leave the haughty elves, but I loved the other characters! The storyline is original and fun, with a good twist at the end that provided a nice lead into the next in the series without a cliffhanger…

Danny’s last gig was a disaster that resulted in a biker attack and concussion. or transport to another world where a guy who’s life is stuck in neutral is going to have follow the quest, recruit a party and save the girl(and kingdom). so much fun. Great narration. Great story. funny as all get out.

Im glad Hugo took the time to properly recover because he just made a masterpiece with this book.
When I saw it’s a P.I. warlock story, I expected a Dresden knockoff. I was so wrong. The main character might be a two-trick pony, but the liberal use of his trick in new ways never feels stale or fails to impress. And the audio narration team elevate this to a higher level.
