I’ve read the Jenkins cycle books from this author and liked their quirky, unique story. I was looking forward to how the author would tackle LitRPG and I wasn’t disappointed. Each one of the different classes has different rules which apply to them. They were constantly adding new concepts and definitions for various groups. Some aspects of feudal Japan with magical abilities thrown in. It might have made sense by book 4 or 5 but I’m not that interested.

Unsouled is goofy. Its not up to the near 5 star average its gotten. This story has some good aspects. The world building is partly interesting. Getting to understand how magic works here was worth the time. But almost everything else is lacking. The story about a young man who is outcast from society only..
