a great book. a likable mc who has done much to overcome the rough start to his life, without becoming a jaded jerk. the world is interesting as well as the characters. great narration as well.

if you’ve ever seen a magical high school anime, this is it westernized. Trash romance and trash harem. MC has the sexual experience of a poptart, and the emotional knowledge of a doorknob. The whole of book 3 was essentially filler.

Won’t give any spoilers but this story started out pretty good. Interesting concept, had some promise, and then they just jumped the shark at the end. It got really silly and the story just fell apart. Performance was good but I find it hard to recommend.
Don’t look for a flawless hero in this book or the previous books. Tao Wong has created a character that is just a regular guy trying to figure out where he stands in the world. The pay off is not seeing outer enemies destroyed, but witnessing inner enemies overcome through the blessings that hard times..
