Honestly I’m surprised by Unsouled. It is almost like a hidden LitRPG disguised as a fantasy series so it’s totally a hidden gem in my eyes. Not sure what to say about this one. I just enjoyed the story. Already purchased the next one. I would recommend if cultivation-type stories are your thing and you like enjoyable banter.
I listened the the first 3 and it’s a decent story. I was able to follow it the entire time but unlike other stories it wasn’t grabbing hold in my head I’ll probably forget the characters in 6 months and the story not long after that.

Lots of building the world and characters at the start. Not hugely entertaining during that, but its to be expected imo. Once you get to the last 1/5 of the book it def starts to get way more interesting. Will def pick up the 2nd book.

It was an overall great book but it was a bit slow in the beginning. If you can get past the beginning its smooth sailing from there on. It got a bit confusing with the explanations of essence simply because they were explaining instead of showing it. This is why I suggest reading the Divine..
