I wanted to really not like this book. It started off very slow but was solid with the world and character build. About a third of way through you were hooked into the story and by the end you were thirsty for more. Looking forward to the next book.

To a large part this book was primarily about Greys training to improve his mage skills. Sprinkled throughout there were a few tidbits to keep me going – just barely. the end had a nice hook for the next book.
