The world is a bit one-dimensional, in that shonen anime style where the only thing that matters is growing more powerful. But it’s a blast of a ride and it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. The magic system is pretty interesting and diverse. I’ve already downloaded the second one!
How Calder resolves the crack in the sky and fights the enemies is interesting. Of course, Travis Baldree is a great narrator.
