Perhaps it’s just a pet peeve I’ve developed, or something, but, isn’t there a way to show character depth other than “I have a huge family boner, and that’s the limit of my depth” Like I get it family is important, but do you have to remind the reader of this every moment you can?..

What in the actually hell is going on. This book makes no sense unless you read a whole entire other series that the author decides not to mention at all. This book just sucks, nothing makes sense.
