standard fantasy audible. nothing that will shock you but flows well enough that it helps pass time on a long drive without putting you to sleep

While a bit slow to start, it’s a perfect introduction to our main hero and his sidekick and an introduction to the world of Cradle. Will Wight does an excellent job of writing and Travis Baldree brings it all to life like the master he is.

I really enjoy the story and characters in this book. Also the integration of eastern philosophy. There may be fantasy books written in this setting, but I have not ever noticed them. The story is a lot of fun. About to download the next book.

Overall it’s not a bad read, great if you’re just looking for a light and fun read between the big heavy epics. It’s a good representation of the sub-genre, with a traditionally OP main character. I’ve listened to a lot of books quickly but I’ve never binged a series this fast.

This is *Chefs kiss* perfection, the character development, the plot pacing, the jokes, all of it culminated together to create a masterfully crafted book. Fantasy authors will forever hope to achieve this level of perfection
