I was introduced to this style of books with He who fights monsters, and I was pleasantly impressed with this book. Can’t wait to listen to the next two.  Frank needs blood. I can’t wait to find out how he gets it. 

The relationship between the two main characters was strange and a bit uncomfortable. Captive turned lover as a trope is just not for me. Anyway, the prose is beautiful so it is worth listening to it for the interesting descriptions alone.

Rick really becomes a man in this book, in book one he had growth but man in this one he’s not just getting stronger but smarter!!

It’s like a midnight anime came to life in a novel! Fantastic underdog story with amazing powers and world building.

This is such a interesting read! In attempting to keep the story a mystery I’ll say this, shadeslinger is exhilarating. the world building is excellent, and alongside moments that are truly comedic lies an question. Will you love the MC or hate him?

Great story. The author really captured the reality of what likely could happen. It was a very entertaining book.
