Book 3 was fine, not great, but book 4 was very disappointing. It was deus ex continuously, with wildly varying power scales. The first two books were building up a consistent magic system, book 3 ramps that up in semi weird ways, then book 4 just breaks it and it doesn’t mean anything any more…
