Some stories age well, and some don not. This fits in the latter category, unfortunately. I usually love old hard boiled detectives but this is too much “war veterans” that I cannot relate to.
Author seems to think that guns cause people to turn evil, except the MC. Only the MC can be trusted with a tool that would help people survive in an apocalypse. Every male character is a bland, thoughtless follower unless he thinks he needs to inject some drama in the story, and suddenly even friendly..

Interesting book gets much more interesting as the story progresses. A story of survival in roughbseas but also a story about Religion. How religion is a part of peoples upbringing, daily life and eternal life. Really highlights the lessons of the Bible and leaves the listener with questions of missionary work.

This book is so amazing it is really hard to believe this is a debut novel. This book grabbed on & didn’t let go until the end. Excellent creep factor. Just an all around wonderful experience. A must read!
I loved everything about this book – from the storyline, to the narrator, to the epilogue. If you’re at all curious about the history of mood stabilizers, this book is for you.
