This is a great place to begin for those who know little about the Middle East conflicts. Ames was a good man with sympathy and insight for both sides of the conflict. He eventually became a trusted insider who affected the trajectory of US policy. His loss was a tragedy.

This was a very readable work of non-fiction. The author does a good job, avoiding a dry textbook feel. It is not what I was thinking it was going to be but, it was worth the time to listen.

The reader’s smooth dark voice carries this enthralling book beautifully. I couldn’t stop listening and I’m a little disappointed it’s over. The wealth of information and vibrant writing style keeps it’s hooks in you throughout. I will be listening again very soon. 10/10 highly recommend

I loved the story line, but the male narrator was not agreeable for that role.
This is like scripture. Thích Nhất Hạnh teaches clearly and simply in order to help us understand the eightfold path and learn how to love ourselves and the world around us. The reader’s voice is also wonderful.

CBL is an amazing coach, but the weird tropes about East African runners and only spending five seconds on women? Big miss for me.
