Through out the series he underestimates his opponents. Through his inaction he hurts the one he supposedly cares about. Plot armor allows for the eventual save by some means. I wanted to like this book but I couldn’t. the magic system is pure nonsense and it reads like a self-insert fanfic. I think the reason why people have given it negative reviews based on the LGBT stuff. is because of how poorly written the romance is. it is just shoved in out of nowhere..

I feel like a few chapters of the encounters in a few chapters sounded familiar as scenarios sounded like a previous one. Overall I enjoyed all 9 books.
At first I didn’t like this book at all. It takes 10 chapters for our MC to get his death knight status which is far too long for any story telling. But I admit it has some funny moments to it and it gets better towards the end. Will probably continue on to book 2..
