Slow start but it is the first book my I weak as hell lol but he’s hanging in there I can’t wait I wonder if the childhood friends will ever meat up again

Honestly, I wasn’t really expecting the best from this book. But boy was I proven wrong. Between the characters and narration and premise it just fits all of my needs. Currently getting caught up on royal road and oh man, it never gets old and world building continues.

This book manages to take the relatively worn isekai premise and execute it realistically and refreshingly. An mc who gets overpowered as a result of coming from another world is nothing new, but this mc has interesting restrictions and is forced to rely on his team to thrive. I love the dark humor & similarities to where we are now & could be going. Entertaining, fast moving & not your typical ‘post apocalyptic warrior’ tale!! (read it and you’ll understand)

The book was a bit long and the rereading of his character sheet felt a bit too often. Narrator felt a little bland and monotone in the reading

I loved the main characters and loved how the story evolved. I didn’t want it to end.

First book had a lot of promise though the MC was a bit whiny. This one fell flat in a real way. At the end the MC might have finally grown a spine? Hard to say. Don’t know if I trust it enough to give the author another chance.

This series of books just keeps you coming back for more.. I wish Valero was a real game that we could play
