It was so boring by the time I got to chapter 14 that I just skipped to the last 3 chapters. Turns out I didn’t miss much. The subjects were still in the same place doing basically the same thing. The ending almost put me to sleep. White noise is a better listen.

Not only did this book provide an excellent overview of Chester A Arthur, it also gave an appropriately in depth look at other prominent figures surrounding him at the time; such as Roscoe Conkling and President James Garfield. In particular I enjoyed hearing the letters of Arthur’s supporter Julia Sand.
