The FMC sounds too old for the age she’s narrating. But she’s very good. Everything about this book was excellent until they tortured an innocent girl. I mean, even the wives took part. But the story is well laid out and in-depth. Overall it’s charming, and enlightening story on one of the more forgotten presidents.

I’ve been following along since the beginning and I’ve enjoyed them for the most part (I’ve skipped a few that would’ve gotten on my nerves like Pearl’s story). This one was one of the standout books. A really great story and the characters were interesting. The female lead character was relatable and wasn’t annoyingly snarky.

Started out strong but near the middle it got really dry. At about the time Napoleon proclaimed himself Emperor and set up the rules for his Napoleonic laws. Near the end it picks up again but so much of it was just facts laid out with little embellishment. Lots of other history books are dry..

Entertaining and well done. It is nice to be shown a history of the mystery of Oak Island that goes back centuries and the History Channel reality show barely scratches the surface towards the end of the book. Now I have listened to more than I will ever want to know about that mystery.

The way the story developed kept me guessing. Nothing better than a book that keeps you on your toes. And as usual the voice narration was impecable. Sad that now I have to wait for the next one. Hurry wit the next one. Please Joshua D. You are my only hope ;}

Good story, intricate storyline. Worth listening, but gotta start at book one to understand the full story

I am amazed that the author can keep developing new adventures for our heros. The character development is also really believable uplifting.
