exactly what I been prepping for my whole life. The author gets it and it was too fun to listen to!

The narrator was easy to listen to and he made the story come alive.

You can tell an old white man with zero knowledge of how blacks speak wrote this. “Word to the mother” ain’t been said in 40-50 years. Love the series though.

I liked Grandma but immediately disliked the main character Joe for his reaction to his fiancé dying a week before his wedding and having Chester on him. Laughing at her? Saying she was a BI bad word and always had been? Then why were you still engaged? The female main character is a single mom..

I love books when separate groups are being detailed individually but the story brings them together, Mr. McDermott is a master at this. Favorite characters are Tex and Levi!, you will really enjoy this series!!!

I don’t like the fact that this is the last book. Will there be another one?

It has an Irishman (bonus), humor, and post apocalyptic adventure. Exactly what I was looking for in a series.
