Lovely, lovely new discovery. I love period mysteries and this one caught me by surprise. The gentle storytelling, the defined characters and the reader is incredible. I went into this read expecting something crazy, and that’s exactly what I got. A ridiculous romp, but I was entertained. I picked this up because one of my new favorite narrators, Joel Leslie, performed part of this story. While the other narrators didn’t quite work for me, Joel’s performance was excellent.
