Not a thriller

I was expecting a mystery thriller and instead it was a cheesy romance. Although there were some good moments, the first book was drawn out and boring. The second started out better, then devolved into a bad romance novel. I stopped listening a few chapters into it.

Adorable characters, soft and sweet love story, low-drama conflict with quick resolution, and a delicious narrator, especially in those scenes. Lots of laughs too – though that could have been because I listened while engaged in the hobby Bernice and I share 😇 I’ll be checking out this author’s other titles!

Great dialogue. Author was able to capture each character and their relationships through restrained but always significant dialogue. The reader emphasized this with perfect character accents. Aldo appreciated that the intimate scenes were mainly left to the imagination and not graphically detailed like so many MM books.
