I don’t often relisten to a series, this one I have, and this one leaves me wanting more of Ishmael!! It is so bittersweet to reach the end, please tell us more of Ish! Best space opera ever.

Final quarter of the book is a cringe-fest of “romance”, poor writing, and likely some strange projection of the author’s fetishes. Why is this so common for sci-fi writers? it’s like they can’t help themselves.

I think Ms Quinn is a great author so I went back to this something more than 6X. Still could not get through it. tried skipping multiple chapters thinking it would get better. no luck. I will be returning it. Awful.

Story really picks up as it goes along and what’s great is how it ties into the overarching universe that Jeremy has created! Took me a min to switch to this new narrator but he’s not bad.
Over all the book is pretty good but at about the 2/3 mark it goes from a solid story with a realistic ending to a Micheal Bay movie. It seems laughable to call a book about a Kaiju unrealistic but it really is. If you think you can stomach the ending, the story may be..
This is the worst book I have listened to by this author. I thought she would show some class, but apparently she thinks it’s just awesome to have a cheater get a happily ever after with his stripper. He even moved his illegitimate baby into his dead babies nursery! You totally glorified an unworthy cheater!..

The main character has way way too much internal dialogue. Plus, the actions really don’t make sense even while having a willing suspension of disbelief.

This story has absolutely NO plot. He buys new clothes and suddenly everyone is in love with him? why? So much of what is said or happens is repetitive. And, honestly, it’s written as if this 18 year old with no life experience can do no wrong. I’m glad it was included with my subscription..
