I tried to be open minded but in the end I found the whole book redundant and boring except the last few chapters. I kept waiting for Carla and Otto to hook up but it never happened and was greatly disappointed. It would have made the book a lot more interesting.

This was my first Clive Barker read after being a fan of his movies for many years. Loved the story and the narrator was easy to understand.
Inventive, terrifying, engrossing, this novella gave me everything I look for in a great horror story. The cenobites are an incredible addition to the horror canon of great monsters and it was nice to read something that didn’t feel like just another King knockoff. This one doesn’t disappoint!

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books about Mr Wong’s life. He is a great character and I admire him more and more with each book. You can’t go wrong with starting with Quarter Share and making all the way through to this book.
