Very original idea for an apocalypse. Great reading and voicing in the performance. August is a fairly interesting character with understandable motivations. Poe is absolutely insufferable. Completely helpless all of the time. Scared, confused, directionless. No initiative and a completely non-functioning human even without the events of the novel. Her POV is awful to slog..

I was completely engaged in this book. The narrators were great, the story line was great, the only thing that wasn’t perfect was the twist at the end. It makes total sense and doesn’t take away from the story at all, but it caused me to say a few bad words. Worth the read/listen.

I loved the story. However, the ending, while poetic, was a severe disappointment. Ended like a Greek tragedy. If I want tragedy as ending, I would go to the classics.
