I overall liked the story line and characters but the depth of knowledge, maturity and thought processes of the main character Ishmael who is 18 years old is more like that of a 50 year old who has had a lot more real world life experiences. I’ve had a hard time getting past this thought..

A passable but ultimately forgettable story. The protagonist wandered through the plot points with the control and confidence of a Lone Ranger in a western or a navy seal from military fictions. Though the setting is an eldritch god apocalypse, I felt that the horrors and madness of this setting weren’t properly utilized. Lovecraftian names..
I purchased this and delved into the content because I heard Robin Hansen talking about this co-authored book on a podcast and it was really interesting to me. Unfortunately, it is much more interesting hearing him speak about it rather than having the enlightening information revealed via this book. Hansen is a very likable guy..
