I had a morbid fascination with how the world will be in the near future. It isn’t pretty.

This is an ambitious that takes us to the brink of climate disaster and collapse and the rebuilding, geoengineering and restructuring of society despite every obstacle over four decades. Should be on everyone’s gift list these days.

As someone who believes strongly in de-carbonization, this book presents the most grotesque and unrealistic vision of how it would happen. This book is a political liability for realists doing the nitty-gritty policy and technological work to prevent the worst-case scenario
