Devoid of subtlety, crass, poorly structured, juvenile. The narrators did the best they could with the material given to them. Honestly, not worth your time.
The motivations of everyone except the main character make no sense. The economics of the world are insane. The game mechanics wouldn’t work. The story isn’t entirely awful but it is pretty bad.
Being a native of New Orleans, I am usually disappointed by books that take place in the area. This book was an exception. In addition, the narrator did not attempt a New Orleans accent; narrators who do this fail miserably. The story was a good crime drama. I hope to find more books in this..
