Seems like the author half assed the plot and just filled the story with fluff rather than much character developement. The corny unbelievableness of some of the characters sudden stupidity made me cringe.

average installment for the series. keeps the overall plot moving along. nothing great, nothing really bad to comment.

Rubin knows the history and people from up close. The reader is awful. Where Rubin is witty and fun, the reader is pompous and tiresome. His mispronunciation is distracting.

Chizmar is an expert storyteller. He’s able to pack so much into a small package. Don’t listen to the negative reviews. The stories are excellent and compelling. I loved the characters and the themes.

I loved every minute of this autobiography. Chuck Yeager had an amazing life and career. I laughed out loud at some of the humorous moments and teared up at a few of the more tragic ones. This was a life well lived
