Perhaps it’s the repetitive nature if the titles to date, or the absolutely glacial progress of the AI subplot…I don’t know. I may have to wait until the series concludes (if it ever does) before coming back. This title was a slog for me.

I struggled to finish this book as the author was too in love with evocative language for mundane actions. I also felt his side characters acted counter to logic and reason at times. Had he gone on to justify those actions, that would have been fine, but he didn’t.
