I actually prefer this side story to the main character-focused books so far. The pacing and overall feel of the virtual world fit the scope of this story much better.
maybe worse than Ben Stein with his reading and thats only a slight exaggeration. why let this guy do this book? this is a young character performed by an elderly man who doesnt even try it seems. worst audible ever!!!
Some of the first three chapters were cringe inducingly bad, but push through the first three chapters and there’s a solid litrpg here. I’m planning on continuing the series.

Interesting little side story. Built up Riley’s character a lot more. Really needed something like this!
I understand that people have natural tones to their voice, and all due respect to David for his work here, but it was hard to get through the book. It’s doable (I’m writing this while listening to the epilogue) but be prepared to get through in spite of the narration, not because of it.
