Another dumbass woke book! But with this one, you don’t find out until the end.

The only criticism is that the narrator, though better than the last one, still makes some of the characters sound like little elderly people when they are only in their late 20’s.

Loved it. I listened a while back and details still stand out. Big reader of intrigue and thriller books and this was well done!!!

If you’re on the fence buy the series! Totally addicted to the characters and their adventures

This book is a strange mix of exploring the inner life women who want babies, soap opera philandering and cold blooded murder. Of course there is a crazed wife who abetts the crime. It gave me a sickening feeling- like if this is what Iceland is I wanted to escape.

Light hearted fun fantasy. Really enjoyed it. Loved the characters. Overall a lot of fun. Great narration. The characters really came to life and were truly enjoyable.

perhaps this reads better in the original Icelandic but i doubt it. an unbelievably convoluted story very clumsily told. and it doesn’t help matters that the central detective Elma displays the inarticulacy and stupidity of a teenager – truly aggravating. no more of this series for me.

Kasey Stockton always brings unique situations to her stories. The historical aspect of this was very interesting, and the dilemma the main characters faced was entertaining. Story was fine, but the 41-year-old main character with 3 kids is CONSTANTLY called fat/ugly/old/washed up/unfashionable by her own narration and other characters. Its truly exhausting.

Typical suburban setting at the start, yet drew in some modern twists. I will have to look for other books of hers.
