I was pulled into this story from the start. Really well written and excellent narration! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. The fact that I was gifted this book had no influence over my opinion of it.

The narrator was flat with odd inflections at times, and the writing contained a lot of redundancies. The qausi-Asian setting was cool and the characters were likable. overall the book is good but not great.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the subtle comedy and the interesting way the magic was woven into the tale without completely taking over. The little twists were nice as well. I think some parts were a bit drawn out and there could have been more frightening sequences, but it was a good read..
