The story line was great, never knowing what would happen next, however the narration was a bit on the cheesy side (Ben’s character)For an x-military guy he talked to Joel like he was five, buddy, buddy, buddy ….I think I would have enjoyed it much more in print.

I thought this was going to be just like his other series Dark Road, and they are similar but this is also different enough that it makes it interesting. Pretty standard entry in the EMP apocalyptic genre. It was more grounded than many other books in the genre. I appreciated that the characters didn’t suddenly turn into peerless killing machines like many characters in this genre tend to do.
