The book was overwritten to the point of exhaustion. I couldn’t care less about most of the characters and the main storyline of the series was barely progressed. The writing is predictable and cliche. Characters are one-dimensional. Zombies are background noise from page 1. There isn’t much I can say that’s positive for this book.
Having previously enjoyed Mike Kraus’s Flashpoint series I decided to give this a shot. It started out well enough, but by book three it was getting boring. Characters are introduced but then skipped over and the big drama from the previous books gets resolved off screen with zero satisfaction considering the angst that’s been building..
So much dirty language. I saw Grace Hamilton’s name and have loved many of her books, so I purchased it, but couldn’t stomach all the cussing to even listen to a couple chapters. The books I have listened to of hers has been good and somewhat clean but this was bad.

while this storyline had great potential, the author did minimal research on many important parts of it. in particular spacial relations, time to travel distances, military protocols, Navy seals, average weight a person can carry or drag, etc.
Don’t like the voice of the narrator. And don’t like how he was compared to Steven King in the description. I don’t hear it.
