I struggled with most parts of this book and narration. bottom line I thought the pacing of the plot points just wasn’t believable. I also thought the voices of the narration were horrible. Sorry I will not be continuing the story.

Egads, I bought a jr/high school level mystery. It’s a good book but for adult readers it is simply tiresome.
dont waste your money. plot leaves a lot to be desired. nothing to do with the disappearance of Stacey Shaw. just a wanna be teenage detective and his obnoxious teenage friends being well, teenagers

The story line was ok. The Narrator made my ear bleed. Not for the story line and my OCD of finishing a series I wouldn’t have finished the series.

I hate the narrator voices for the characters I hate the way the author keeps repeating the characters name every other word. it seems like a kid wrote this and the editor never edited. only reason why it has Stars is because it would not let me save without marking one.

It’s hard to judge the story, because I couldn’t get past the robotic narration. As the book would progress, I found that the dead pan narration just left me with a hollow experience.

Any additional comments? The story was sophomoric & too plodding to hold interest. The protagonist was likeable but was also a sloppy police detective. this was my sixth audiobook and by far the worst. it’s a simple story line that lacks any real depth. the narration seems to hit all the wrong notes in intonation and inflection. not sure how this book was rated so high; you can do much better.
The story is decent and the world is interesting, but the writing style is very choppy. The events in this book feel lightly mentioned, with a lot of potential detail just skimmed over.
