It’s a really hard book to listen to. Not very well written and the narrator is really hard to listen to. Save your credit and get something else.

The story and characters were ok except that it was just awful. I was cringing at the inner dialogue of the characters. It was either so cliché and predictable or stupid. Then paired with the sing songy voice of the narrator and the way he distinctly says every word like he’s talking to a 5..
So, I gave this a try and oh how foolish was I to think this was anything but a waste of a time. This was straight garbage, nothing else. Think about it before you buy this, it’s written for children who want a funny anime written in book form. I really should’ve checked more reviews..
I’m two books in and don’t think I can make it through. The male hero is (shockingly!) a former Navy SEAL and SWAT officer. Understandable device to give the character instant street cred, even if it is hackneyed as all get out. Then, at a pivotal moment, this super operator who operates operationally chooses to..

I was actually hoping that one character WOULD die or at least spend many years behind bars … not a perpetrator, but a person of a moral compass so indifferent to the suffering of others as to make their career choice extremely questionable. There is nothing interesting about bad writing…
Weak sauce.

Who wants to see characters struggle in any way? Have every main character be great and awesome and helpful and cheerful. No need for..
I really want to like this book. It’s got the basis of a decent storyline. I’m about 5 hours in and don’t think i can continue much further. It might get better but the majority of the dialog sounds as if a question is constantly being asked. The younger people in the story are made..
couldn’t get into it.

I had to return it. I’m a big fan of the EMP books and similar apocalyptic series. What really got me was the collection. Unfortunately, I returned the title, I’m not if it was narrator or the author or a little of both but it felt like instead hearing about the experience or being a..
