Fell short on many levels

Review from Sweet Home Louisiana →

It was ok. I couldn’t connect with the story and found myself tuning out the book. I felt like Maddie was slowing down the character development of all the characters. I spent the book wanting more from the side characters, which isn’t a good thing in a book for me.

I’m done with this series

Review from Live and Let Growl →

Very disappointing the reader changed. Don’t know what happened but new reader has a robotic narration and the dramatic difference in characters from the last reader is too much. All the voices sound too similar and not as much flare and acting as the last reader throughout the beginning of the series until this book…

I should have read the reviews

Review from Meet Isabel Puddles →

As others have said, the idea is charming, but the execution is not. Aunt Pegs voice

Review from Ruff Justice →

having a hard time getting used to the new narrator where aunt Peg is concerned. the previous narrator did her voice in a higher pitch which made her sound more snooty/ high class which she is lol. However, I love the series and will continue to listen.

great story

Review from Sweet Home Louisiana →

a sweet crazy sexy story that was almost ruined by the female narrative. I had to come back to it 3 times cause the story was awesome but she sounded like alaxa was reading it and with the smooth sexy voice of the male it was very jarring when she tolk over . I’m sorry..

Really enjoy the series

Review from Live and Let Growl →

Ive gotten hooked on this series and really enjoy it. Although I do miss the original narrarator Jessica Almasy. She brought the characters to life. Angie Hickman is ok but just doesn’t have the energy it seems to separate and liven up the charactersOverall it’s a good series

Love this series

Review from Sunny Side Up →

As a chicken mom myself I love the egg farm backdrop in this light hearted mystery series. And all the descriptions of Hawaii and it’s cuisine make me long to visit the islands.

Not author’s best in the series

Review from Murder at the Puppy Fest →

I generally love the Melanie Travis books but this is not one of the better ones. I thought there were parts of the story that were underdeveloped, and some that seemed to me a non sequitur leading to a rather abrupt ending that feels like there should have been more. Enjoyable, but not great. .
