I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.
I read "Zombies in Antarctica" and my brain went "well, that’s new" and I opted to listen to this book. The premise is really good and even characters are well fleshed out. But there are quite a few drawbacks in this book which kept me from enjoying it.
For starters, the book uses long winding chapters to say very little thing of substance. That is, after listening to it for tens of minutes, you realize the story has moved only just a little. Look at the book’s synopsis. Such a huge synopsis but you get only minimal and unnecessary info about the story from it. The entire book is like that.
When s#!t hits in the fan, it doesn’t really become a gritty fight for survival. Multiple characters seem to already have the skills to survive the situation. And rest of the escapes are "well, wasn’t that convenient" kind. I never actually feared for the characters.
The narration was hit n miss. A few characters sounded very good, while all others sounded same ass each other.
