I was in between books and the value for the credit made me take a bit of a leap on this series – really glad I did. It’s a pretty unique take on the Zombie apocalypse. The characters are well thought out and well developed. It’s a good mix of action, drama and humor and each book is pretty satisfying on its own. In some ways I’m surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did because there isn’t really a larger story arc – no main bad guy, no way for the good guys to really “win”. You just follow along as Zed and Murphy go on about their adventures – all of it with a really interesting undertone of racism experienced by those who by fluke of the virus look like “zombies”.
