I love these books, though that much must be obvious if I’ve gotten this far into the series. One if the things I appreciate is the power escalation. Oren is and always has been very powerful, but I appreciate the fact that as he grows stronger so do his challenges. We can feel his strength while not getting bored because he’s too OP and curb-stomping everything.
The author takes a step back from base building/management, and honestly, I’m ok with that. I remember thinking to myself just how much the progression reminds me of my experiences playing Spore—going from an individual to a tribe, and eventually into a full-fledged civilization, each stage with its own challenges and mechanics.
I’m interested in seeing what happens next, although his increasingly goblinoid mindset/tendencies has me worried, especially after Ragnar starting exhibiting similar influences. At least he’s not at risk of losing himself in the role again.
Looking forward to seeing how the green messiah’s kingdom grows, and how the Mob Squad fairs in their predicament. Here’s to hoping that this timeline lies in the 80% success timeline.
