I received this book for free dollars, my integrity is worth at least 30 hrs so you can bet this is an honest review.

I generally frown upon audiobooks that are short, and this one is definitely pretty dang short, but after listening I have 0 frowns. The book feels “bigger” than the four hour read it is. The characters are well thought out and engaging, the main character and his companion have a real sense of depth to them. I was genuinely surprised to find myself as emotionally committed to characters as I was…after only 4 little hours.

The action is well written, with a pacing that elicits anxious anticipation, that’s edge of the seat thrills folks. The world is surprisingly believable, probably due to converting the real world location to a dungeon. The mechanics are convenient, detailed enough without becoming obtrusive, perfect for an introduction to gamelit/litRPG.

The narration/voice acting is absolutely spectacular. The narrator used a low, gritty, gravelly voice that suits the post apocalyptic/rogue like setting superbly. I was absolutely taken in, and blown away by this book.

10/10 definitely recommend.
