Struggled to finish. It IS good, yet somehow frustrating. The pace is fast and tight, but the characters are a little annoying for reasons I wish I could qualify, as well the cultivation system/ranks are oft-overstaying their welcome in the prose. The naming convention and semi-sci-fi element of the “heavenly immortals” is definitely jarring (and honestly I hated it until they directly interacted with the MC and stopped being an annoying overseer at a magic computer screen), but the overall ideas are well-implemented for the setting and MC’s journey.
