Whenever I find something written by N.R. Walker I grab it because I know it’s going to be brilliant. Combine that with the genius of Joel Leslie’s narration and I promise you will never be disappointed. I have no idea how Mr. Leslie can so delightfully create the unique voice of each character, and maintain that voice for the entire series.
N.R. Walker is tremendously adept at telling a story. More so, she knows what her readers want and then delivers. She has this wicked sense of humor which is woven throughout her work, regardless of the theme. This series of three books has an underlying grand theme and then each novel has a unique story which builds upon the preceding book. Each of the three Cronin books is a stand alone work but it is much more fun to read all three and to read them in order. This author is one of a very few that I always buy the audio as well as Kindle version. I find myself re-reading and/or listening to the narrator time and time again simply because her work is that good.
There are so many possible storylines for the central characters that I hope the author continues the series. I can’t imagine ever growing weary of reading about the adventures of Cronin and Alec.
