Campy, but entertaining. I’m generally not a fan of litRPG because the stories often wander aimlessly from encounter to encounter with very little character or plot development.

This series does not suffer from that problem. Despite all the bad puns and cheesy jokes, the underlying story is well written and very dark. It’s a good mix of mindless entertainment and psychological horror, with top notch narration. The style of both the writing and narration isn’t going to be for everyone, but if you don’t hate the book after the first 5 minutes you’ll probably end up binging the entire series.
