I thought the book was decent at the start but I enjoyed it more and more as it went along. The villain was disgustingly evil and felt real. The reactions of the characters felt appropriate except for a small issue I have with the dungeon not reorganizing or changing things up except when he changes tiers. With everything always being the same, after one successful run through there’s no reason why any group wouldn’t share the layout and monster distribution to all the groups so without some more randomness or changing monster compositions it doesn’t seem likely that the dungeon would be able to kill enough adventures to continue leveling. I suppose that’s why other dungeon books I’ve read have the dungeon gain exp just by having adventurers inside albeit less exp than killing an adventurer. Beyond that one issue I really liked it and am looking forward to the next installment.
