I’m happy with this purchase! This is NOT one of those nerdy, survivalist post apocalyptic stories. This is NOT what I call “prepper p@rn”. This is a fun, action filled zombie story. Lots of running, lots of barely surviving and thinking on their feet. It’s not full of navy seal characters and there is not a single “survivalist-prepper” in this story- which is great. There are way too many of those these days and they are all so very ..B movie. You know? Nerdy and circle jerkish if you know what I mean.
I do have to say that it picks up a lot after the first and second books. The writer also seems to improve a lot.
I personally loved hearing a story set in Austin because Austin is home. It was cool knowing every street and location talked about. I’ve never experienced that before in a book and I quite liked it.
I bought the box set which came with books 1-9. I most definitely got more than what I paid for in listening time which I greatly appreciate! It was a bad ass story with a complex central character.
