This book was unlike any LitRPG I’ve listened to in that the players are not trapped in the virtual world. There is only about two scenes in the real world though as to not take away from the story. It touches a little bit on mourning losses and the psychological effects others have on our sense of worth which I thought was a nice touch. I did not find the MC arrogant as other reviewers suggested. It was a fine story, fun to listen to but did not blow my mind. The one thing that bothered me is that the author is obsessed with the word “whilst” and since this is not a common US English word, I found it very distracting in it’s frequency. Still worth a listen for some entertainment.
