Charlotte Roth pens another wonderful book with interesting and original storylines that grabbed both my attention and my heart right from that start and held it hostage to the very end. I adore this author’s great writing style, her stories have a beautiful and natural flow to them and they are realistic and relatable. The same for the characters, they are complex and well developed and ones you can relate to. It is great to see main characters who are in their forties. Helen has been happily married, she gave up a career to be a stay at home to raise her two children. Now that her children are nearing adulthood she is considering going back to work. She is not that confident college graduate anymore and she faces different challenges as things have changed over time. She also sees a person from her past and has thoughts of what could have beens. Her husband, Mark, tells her she should go to Italy with her best friend and their Moms to attend an old friend’s wedding in Italy. I loved how everything played out in this story, all the drama, humor as well as the heartfelt and moving moments. Charlotte Roth, thank you for another wonderful story. I love your ability to bring the reader in right along side the character, seeing what they are seeing and felling.

I listened to the Audible edition, Brenda Scott Wlazio is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She brings these characters to life, give each their own distinct voice and personality. You could hear how much hear she puts into her work as she projects the emotions of the characters into her performance. She does a great job capturing the humor as well as the drama of the story. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this wonderful listen🎧
