I have been thoroughly impressed with this series since book 2. Hugo Huesca has done what I think to be the gold standard for LitRPG.

Story: The plot is progressive and very relatable. If you are experience with RPG’s displays right into the expectations of trying to live one. Well done referencing pop-culture and showing growth in the characters personalities as well as their abilities. There are no Mary Sue’s in this book.

Performance: I’m generally not impressed with most audio book readers but the transitions between Jeff Hayes, Annie Ellicott and Dottie Sacks is wonderful. I like having a male and female reader to differentiate between various characters in Perspectives. However with the abundance of additional characters the addition of a third reader really helped bring the story to life. The performance was also enhanced by the use of muffling their voices when the dialogue called for it such as the character having to speak through a barrier or express exhaustion and other physical requirements. A big improvement over just simply reading the story.
